Attention all Year 5 and 6 pupils. . . .
The time has come for signing up to next years France trip. It is a five day residental trip to northern France, where you will get to experience a range of activities and the french culture and cuisine. This trip has been running for several years at SJL and is very popular. Many have already secured their places by paying their deposits with Janet at the school office. There are only 25 places available and it is a first come first served basis.
The cost of the trip in total should be £355, this though has already been subsidised by school, each place has had £100 paid towards it bringing down the cost for you. So the amount you will pay is £255. In order to confirm your place you will need to pay a deposit of £25.00 asap.
There are only a few places left. . .
The trip will be on Monday 23rd May 2010 – Friday 27th May 2010. See the previous posts from last years trip.
Have a look at the website for the Kingswood centre we will be staying at – Chateau de Chantereine

Every Friday in Upper School (years 4- 6) we have a congratulations assembly, celebrating the good work and efforts of the children in upper school. Each week class teacher choose a pupil from their class to receive the certificate in light of excellent work or behaviour. From now on the names of these pupils will be published weekly on our school blog, sharing their successes with everbody.
A huge Well done to the following pupils, who were awarded the certificate this week.
4F-Mustafa, for being able to clearly explain his process for addition.
4D – Aiden, for knowing all of his times tables off by heart, this is amazing!!
5N – A’Saiah, for a great piece of english work, with all the features required.
5Y – Idiris, for producing an excellent, detailed diary extract as part of his english work. Mr Young and Tayrn were very impressed. (Maybe you could type it up to share with the rest of the school?)
6C – Maariya, for hugely improving handwriting and presentation in all of her work.
6D – Laura, for producing an excellent mind map during her science work. It was presented beautifully and had lots of detail included.
