French Cafe

On the last Friday before half term, we held a French cafe in the hall. All of the children from year 3 to year 6 had an opportunity to use their French speaking skills, which they have been taught. A huge thanks goes to Magali for all her hard work too!

Musical Workshop for 3H

3H Have had a wonderful afternoon with Albert’s Band! We performed to 3E and year 2, as well as some parents.

Ice skating at Somerset House!

Congratulations to the winning house, Tolkien.  They have shown great learning behaviour in upper school and were rewarded with a trip to ice skating.  They collected hundreds of house points and were role models to children throughout the school.

We had a fantastic time skating at Somerset house on Wednesday, even if we did spend quite a lot of time on the floor! Take a look at some of the pictures from the day:

Your French homework is to write a short description of yourself, what colour hair & eyes you have. Whether you’re short or tall. The number of arms and legs, hopefully there is some similarity with this. . .

At SJL we have reading buddies. We share our books and stories we have written once a week. Year 6 have reading buddies in Year 3.

Countdown to the 2012 Olympics

The Olympic Games are on their way . . .

As some of you may know, the Olympic Torch arrived in the United Kingdom on Friday night. 8,000 people will be carrying the torch, they’re known as ‘torch bearers.’ If you want to want them as the carry the torch around the country click on the flame below.

Next half term we will have lots and lots of exciting things happening to celebrate the Olympics coming to London.
