France residential

For the attention of all the children going to France.

I have attached the packing list as a picture on here for you, just in case.

I have been checking the weather too and it seems that it is getting better, not as cold. However, I would recommend, as I said at the meeting, that you should bring layers of clothes so you can wrap up in the colder mornings but then put them in your bag if it’s warmer during the day. (Fingers crossed)

Remember that you MUST be wearing your school jumper tomorrow!

Ice skating at Somerset House!

Congratulations to the winning house, Tolkien.  They have shown great learning behaviour in upper school and were rewarded with a trip to ice skating.  They collected hundreds of house points and were role models to children throughout the school.

We had a fantastic time skating at Somerset house on Wednesday, even if we did spend quite a lot of time on the floor! Take a look at some of the pictures from the day:

French Homework – 23/11/12

Your French homework is to write a short description of yourself, what colour hair & eyes you have. Whether you’re short or tall. The number of arms and legs, hopefully there is some similarity with this. . .

Use the picture to help you.

Year 5 visit to Downing Street

On Monday & Tuesday 5D went on a walking tour of central London.  On both days we were able to visit Downing Street and have our photo taken outside that famous black door.  Do you know who lives at number 10 Downing Street?

Have a look at our pictures. . .

Want to know what your child is learning this half term?

As you will be aware, we currently send home topic webs on a half termly basis, which informs you of the learning that is taking place in your child’s class.  In addition to sending these home on paper, we are now also extending this to include electronic versions through the blog.  To view your child’s topic web, detailing activities and where it links to the National Curriculum, just visit their year group page and click on the hyperlink.

Year 2 and 6 currently do not have topic webs, as they have been working towards and on their SATs.  Keep checking for their topic webs, which will be here soon. . . .

If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment under this post or speak to your child’s teacher.
